Engineering Management - Master Academic Studies
The aims of this study program are written according to basic tasks and aims of Technical faculty “Mihajlo Pupin” in Zrenjanin and the study plan of Basic academic studies. The aims include skills and methods necessary for achieving knowledge from the field of management and engineering disciplines.
Within this study program a special attention is paid to strategic and operation management, management systems, decision-making processes and implementation of IT systems in business, financial aspects of business, entrepreneurship and innovations, marketing, disciplines significant for engineering practice such as: reliability of machines, risk management, effective management, technical diagnostics. Within the study program related to the field of engineering management students will particularly master academic skills concerning organization of work process, efficient company management, making optimum business decisions based on market research, etc.
After finishing this level of studies students are competent to apply the achieved knowledge on clear problem definition and the ways for solutions, making evaluation for their realization, compiling documentation and realization of solutions at all levels of management from strategic to tactical ones. Graduated studenst can be responsible in companies for production process or oprations, or for the process in which different inputs ( human, capital, managerial, technological) are transformed into outputs ( products, services, profit, satisfaction, unification of aims and similar). After graduation students are enabled for team work and communication with experts from other fields. Achieved knowledge and education makes possible their permanent education. Besides, during their studies students achieve skills and abilities for independent planning and doing research within this field, working out and analysis of results, formulating and making conclusions as well as presenting research results.
Employment possibilities of graduated students are in the fields including the following tasks: planning capacity of means for work, planning human resources, leadership in production process, leadership in maintenance systems, leadership in giving services, project leadership, leadership at all levels of business.
Academic title which students achieve after graduation is Graduated engineer of management – Master.
Engineering Management – Doctorial studies
Academic title to acquire: Doctor of Sciences (Ph.D.) – Industrial Engineering – Industrial Management
Doctorial academic studies Industrial Management lasts three years (six semesters) and worth at least 180 ECTS. It is expected that 36 students study at the study program that is 12 students per year. All enrolled students are supplied with conditions in the sense of getting a mentor, and afterwards doctorial dissertation defense.
Studies at the doctorial study are organized through lectures, research study work, scientific work, working out and defending doctorial dissertation. Student profiles his research interests by choosing subjects he is going to study and take on examination. Electoral subjects are chosen from the subject proposed groups on the study program itself.
The result of the learning process is knowledge that enables students to become capable for high qualitative and independent scientific research work. The aim of the study program is to achieve scientific competency and academic skill in Industrial Management field. Besides, it includes development of creative ability to consider any problem, ability to think critically, development of group work abilities, and obtaining specific practical skills necessary to perform the profession.
Students who complete doctorial academic studies of Industrial Management are competent to perform researches and to solve real practical problems. Competencies encompasses development of critical thinking abilities, problem analyzing abilities, solutions abilities, synthesizing abilities, and abilities to predict chosen solutions behaviour with a prediction of their good and bad sides.
The achieved competences are verified in scientific papers. Before the defense of the doctorial dissertation, the student has to publish (or to prove that his papers are accepted for publishing) at least one paper of M23 level (according to the categorization of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia).
