Engineering Management – Doctoral Academic Studies
Academic title to acquire: Doctor of Sciences (Ph.D.) – Industrial Engineering – Industrial Management
Doctoral academic studies Industrial Management lasts three years (six semesters) and worth at least 180 ECTS. It is expected that 36 students study at the study program that is 12 students per year. All enrolled students are supplied with conditions in the sense of getting a mentor, and afterwards doctoral dissertation defense.
Studies at the doctoral study are organized through lectures, research study work, scientific work, working out and defending doctoral dissertation. Student profiles his research interests by choosing subjects he is going to study and take on examination. Electoral subjects are chosen from the subject proposed groups on the study program itself.
The result of the learning process is knowledge that enables students to become capable for high qualitative and independent scientific research work. The aim of the study program is to achieve scientific competency and academic skill in Industrial Management field. Besides, it includes development of creative ability to consider any problem, ability to think critically, development of group work abilities, and obtaining specific practical skills necessary to perform the profession.
Students who complete doctoral academic studies of Industrial Management are competent to perform researches and to solve real practical problems. Competencies encompass development of critical thinking abilities, problem analyzing abilities, solutions abilities, synthesizing abilities, and abilities to predict chosen solutions behavior with a prediction of their good and bad sides.
The achieved competences are verified in scientific papers. Before the defense of the doctoral dissertation, the student has to publish (or to prove that his papers are accepted for publishing) at least one paper of M23 level (according to the categorization of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia).
