Description

Technical chemistry course is introduction to the basic chemical principles and laws. The course aims at gaining basic knowledge in general and inorganic chemistry. The course provides insight into the chemical reactions' processes that can be met in the engineering sciences.

 

Lectures:

Mole, the molar mass. The absolute masses of atoms and molecules. Molar volume. The equation of ideal gas state. Chemical reactions, stoichiometry. Classification of elements and periodic table of the elements. Basic chemical laws. The structure of pure substances. Structure of atoms. Atomic energy levels. The periodicity properties of the elements. The structure of molecules. Chemical bond. Types of intermolecular interactions. The chemical symbols, formulas and equations. The name of compounds. Dispersive system. Solutions. Types and characterization of inorganic compounds. Oxidation-reduction. Chemical reactions. Catalysis. Chemical balance. Corrosion. Corrosion processes and corrosion protection.

 

Practical course:

Determination of real (molecular) formula. Basic formula calculation. Stoichiometric calculations. Oxidation-reduction reactions. Assignments of chemical equilibrium. Calculation of solution composition and solution concentration. Calculation of pH and pOH values.
