Description
Educational objective of this course is acquiring knowledge in the field of functioning of market economy, especially from the aspect of the evolution of scientific thought about the market economy and the development of basic theoretical concepts of market economy, as well as the application of these settings in the modern market economy.
Course content is divided into two parts, theoretical part and practical part. The theoretical part includes: conceptual definition of economics, economic thought until the industrial revolution, classical political economy, marginalism, macro-economic analysis, social production, production of goods, factors of production and development, conceptual definition of the market, market mechanism, conceptual definition of offer, conceptual definition of demand, and market mechanisms and institutional influences. The practical part includes writing seminar paper, which aims at improving the student's knowledge; his/her work autonomy and improvement of technical terminology in written expression.
Educational outcomes: the acquired knowledge of basic economics students will use to identify different market phenomena and to solve problems that have their origins in economic theory.
