Description
The main objective of the course is to acquire theoretical and practical knowledge of the basic environmental contaminants. Students gain knowledge of the basic pollutants of water and air, as well as noise so that independently can solve the associated problems.
Theoretical and practical study:
Determination of carbon dioxide ; determination of organic compound; determination of sulfur compounds, determination of sulfur dioxide in the flue gases and air of working premices; determination of nitrogen oxides; ammonium; ozone and oxidizing substances in the atmosphere; free chlorine; determination of fluoride ions. Water and water pollutants; smells, taste, and color; turbidity, radioactivity, conductivity, pH, dry residue, determination of cations (metals); carbonate hardness; mercury; sulfur compounds: sulfites, sulfates; nitrogen compounds; phenols; oxygen (biochemical oxygen consumption, chemical oxygen consumption). Noise; sound; pressure; sound intensity, power of a sound source; frequency signal analysis and "A" filter, equivalently continuous sound pressure, level of "pollution" by noise; traffic noise index. Measurement of electromagnetic fields.
