Description:
The educational goal of this subject is to familiarize students with the characteristics of preparation for clothing construction, the importance of using the adequate norms and standards, methods of obtaining body measures and using them for construction of sports-wear and work wear.
Through this subject, the students learn about the characteristics of modeling of clothes in construction preparation, about the differences in using clothing sizes for constructing patterns, and their relations. The students will gain complete knowledge and competency in the field of modeling of sports-wear and work wear. According to production demands, the students will be capable of independently applying construction and modeling techniques in the clothes making process.
During lectures, students will learn the theory of pattern making based on clothing standards and norms, body characteristics and anthropometry. Modeling of clothes from various materials will be discussed (knits, fur, leather). Students have the opportunity of gaining the advanced knowledge level in using software such as Modaris, Diamino, JustPrint and VigiPrint for clothes pattern construction, modeling, grading and printing.
Through the course of practical exercises, students are introduced to traditional methods of construction and modeling of male and female clothes, and they learn to use the advanced functions of Modaris, Diamino, JustPrint and VigiPrint software available on computers in classrooms.
