Description
Students will be trained to use analyze professional texts, to use professional terminology related to the study programs (industrial engineering and information technology. At the end of the course they will be able to write short reports, papers, and abstracts in the English Language concerning their study fields. They also will know the types of dictionaries and how to use them both in paper and electronic forms. Looking for references on the study topics is another goal of the subject. Students will be taught how to find appropriate professional references on the Internet. Introduction into independent translation of different types of texts is also predicted to be taught. The main topics of the texts are as follows: computer users, computer architecture, computer applications, peripherals, operating systems, graphical user interfaces, applications programs, multimedia, etc.
