MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION

By submitting a manuscript authors warrant that their contribution to the Journal is their original work, that it has not been published before, that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere, and that its publication has been approved by all co-authors, if any, and tacitly or explicitly by the responsible authorities at the institution where the work was carried out.

In those cases where the paper has been presented at a Conference, it can be published in Journal if it has not been published in generally available conference materials and/or if it has not been published in its entirety.

Authors are exclusively responsible for the contents of their submissions, the validity of the experimental results and must make sure that they have permission from all involved parties to make the data public.

Authors wishing to include figures or text passages that have already been published elsewhere are required to obtain permission from the copyright holder(s) and to include evidence that such permission has been granted when submitting their papers. Any material received without such evidence will be assumed to originate from the authors.

Authors must make sure that all only contributors who have significantly contributed to the submission are listed as authors and, conversely, that all contributors who have significantly contributed to the submission are listed as authors.

Manuscripts should be submitted as an email attachment to the editorial (on jemc@tfzr.uns.ac.rs and/or jofemandc@yahoo.com). The main body of the e-mail message should contain the title of the paper and the name and address of the corresponding author. The manuscripts must be in English. The manuscript should include all contact information for all manuscript authors (affiliation, postal address and email address). Authors from Serbia should supy manuscripts with Title, Abstract, and Keywords on serbian language, utilizing Latin scrip.

Journal of Engineering Management and Competitiveness (JEMC) utilizes a single-blind peer-review by two experts to review submitted manuscripts. Upon receipt, manuscripts are be pre-evaluated at the Editorial Office in order to check whether they meet the basic publishing requirements and quality standards. They are also screened for plagiarism. Reviewers are selected from the Editorial Board of the Journal or qualified outside reviewers. The selection is based upon the particular area of expertise of the reviewers matched to the subject matter of the submission.

During submittion, authors have the right to propose one or more independent reviewers in the subject area. Suggested reviewers must be knowledgeable about the subject area of the manuscript; they must not be from the authors' own institution and they should not have recent joint publications with any of the authors. Editorial Board reserves the right to overestimate the credibility and competence of the suggested reviewers, i.e. the acceptance or rejection of authors proposals.

Authors will be notified by email upon receiving their submission. Only those contributions which conform to the following instructions can be accepted for peer-review. Otherwise, the manuscripts shall be returned to the authors with observations, comments and annotations.

Once the manuscript is accepted for publication, authors shall transfer the copyright to the Publisher. Upon transfer of the copyright to the publisher, no part of the manuscript may be reproduced in any form without written permission of the publisher. If the submitted manuscript is not accepted for publication by the Journal, all rights shall be retained by the Author(s).

MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION

Authors must follow the instructions for authors, failing which the manuscripts would be rejected without review.

The manuscript should be submitted in a single MS Word file (.doc or .docx). All submissions must include a Title, Authors (names, affiliations, e-mails of all authors and a notation (*) of the corresponding author), an Abstract (no more than 200 words) and 3-6 Keywords. Paper usualy should include text body (Introduction, Theory, Methods, Findings, Discussion, Conclusions and Implications), Tables, Figures and References. The Acknowledgments of people, grants, funds, etc should be brief. Footnotes to the text should be avoided wherever this is reasonably possible. No maximum length exists, but authors should write concisely. A significant review element will be the paper's length relative to its content.

Essential title page information:

• Title. Concise and informative. Titles are often used in information-retrieval systems. Avoid abbreviations and formulae where possible.
• Author names and affiliations. Please clearly indicate the given name(s) and family name(s) of each author and check that all names are accurately spelled. Present the authors' affiliation addresses below the names. Provide the full postal address of each affiliation, including the country name and, if available, the e-mail address of each author.
• Corresponding author. Clearly indicate who will handle correspondence at all stages of refereeing and publication, also post-publication. Ensure that the e-mail address is given and that contact details are kept up to date by the corresponding author.

Abstract: Not exceeding 200 words, should contain state briefly the purpose of the research, the principal results and major conclusions, so that its original text can be used in referential periodicals and databases. Do not include citations in the Abstract. Also, non-standard or uncommon abbreviations should be avoided, but if essential they must be defined at their first mention in the abstract itself.

Keywords: Immediately after the abstract, provide a maximum of 6 keywords. Keywords should appear in the manuscript or be related to the main thrust of the manuscript. An accurate list of keywords will ensure correct indexing of the paper in referential periodicals and databases.

The manuscript

All submissions must be typed in English, single spaced with 2.5 cm all margins (Top, Bottom, Left and Right), paper size A4, using 11 point Times New Roman font. A template file may be downloaded from here.

Manuscripts should be submitted grammatically and stylistically adequate. It is required that manuscripts include proper use of the English language, proper grammatical structure, and correct spelling and punctuation. (American or British usage is accepted, but not a mixture of these).

To maintain the focus and scope of Journal of Engineering Management and Competitiveness (JEMC), the Editorial encourages authors to identify past articles which have been published in the Journal, fits with the subject area of the manuscript. This helps the Editorial to determine the suitability of the manuscripts to JEMC.

Math formulae

It is recommended to use MS Word program Equations editor to type all formulas. Number equations consecutively. Equation numbers, within parentheses, are to position flush right, as in (1), using a right tab stop. To make your equations more compact, you may use the solidus (/), the exp function, or appropriate exponents. Italicize Roman symbols for quantities and variables, but not Greek symbols. Use a long dash rather than a hyphen for a minus sign. Punctuate equations with commas or periods when they are part of a sentence, as in

Note that the equation is centered using a center tab stop. Be sure that the symbols in your equation have been defined before or immediately following the equation.

Tables and Figures

Tables and figures (photos, drawings and other illustrations) need to be included in the body of the paper. Number tables and figures consecutively in accordance with their appearance in the text and place any notes below the body. Please make references to all tables and figures. Example: This is shown in Table 1. Example: text (see also Figure 1).

Please submit tables as editable text and not as images. Tables should be placed next to the relevant text in the article. Be sparing in the use of tables and ensure that the data presented in them do not duplicate results described elsewhere in the article.

Ensure that each figure has a caption. A caption should comprise a brief title (not on the figure itself) and a description. Keep text in the illustrations themselves to a minimum but explain all symbols and abbreviations used.

Figures should be of good quality. If the author or the editorial decides that it is necessary, the figures should also be submitted separately as TIFF or JPEG files. Additional figures are to be submitted as follows: drawings 600 dpi, photos and other illustrations with a resolution of 300 dpi. Colour figures will be reproduced in colour only in the online edition of the Journal.

Please do not:

• Supply files that are optimized for screen use (e.g., GIF, BMP, PICT, WPG); these typically have a low number of pixels and limited set of colors;
• Supply files that are too low in resolution;
• Submit graphics that are disproportionately large for the content.

Appendix

Appendixes, if needed, appear before the acknowledgment.

Acknowledgements

Collate acknowledgements in a separate section at the end of the article before the references and do not, therefore, include them on the title page, as a footnote to the title or otherwise. Use the singular heading even you have many acknowledgments. List here those individuals who provided help during the research. Also put in this section sponsor and financial support acknowledgments.

REFERENCES

Please ensure that every reference cited in the text is also present in the reference list (and vice versa). Any references cited in the abstract must be given in full. Unpublished results and personal communications are not recommended in the reference list, but may be mentioned in the text. If the reference has not been written in English, please translate it into English, and state the original language in square brackets, e.g. [in Serbian].

Citations in the text and literature should follow the referencing style used by the American Psychological Association (APA). APA references are widely used in the social sciences, education, engineering and business.
